Oleandor is extremely poisonous. One leaf can kill a small child and a lot of chickens. With that said a lot people have this plant in their garden without incident. If the tree is valuable to you I would fence it off - why take the chance?
Is oleander poisonous for chickens?
Oleander is poisonous in leaves, stem, and flower. Assess how your chickens are encountering oleander, Are they perching on wood? Chickens don't chew wood, so that should be safe. Eating leaves, buds, or flowers--not safe. So, if your chickens are wandering among oleander bushes, and pecking at oleander buds, they will be poisoned.
