Are oleander flowers really poisonous?

Oleander plants are indeed poisonous, although a fatal dose may vary--an infant or small animal being more sensitive than a large adult. This site lists some good information about oleander toxicity:

In Southern Louisiana, Voodoo practitioners used the liquid inside the plant to poison their enemies.

Reply:The seeds are slightly poisonous to birds and wildlife that may ingest them. It would not be good to have a child ingest them either.
